Kyk dis nou wraggies Kaapse geelperske-reënweer hier in Switzerland.
“Halloooo, varswater visse” het ek so by myself gedink.
In kort.
GENIET DIT!
Aquatis: so surprising!
See, this is now typical, yellow-peachweather of the Western Cape in South Africa, here in Switzerland. For the past week that I’ve been here, I’ve had (maybe) a total of 1 day of sunshine. Fortunately, my eldest daughter told me that it is not quite the usual weather patterns for this time of year. Perhaps, it is Abba Father’s way of keeping my itchy feet and ants in the pants, in the house, so that I can do what I came here for – WORK!
On Sunday, my daughter made the suggestion that we should face the Polar bears and go to the largest freshwater aquarium in Europe. “I thought..” Halloooo, freshwater fish “. All that I could think of was Carp, Yellowfish, and Catfish! What an absolutely amazing experience it turned out to be. I’ve attached some photos and videos so that you can share in an “amazing” experience.
It just made me realize again how absolutely wonderful God made everything. Someone once remarked that we know more about what goes on, on the surface of the moon than under the waters of the earth. I once went diving with a group of Scuba divers in Sodwana in South Africa and I saw a “nubi branch” (Small Slug) which I showed to the dive instructor. At the end of our dive, after they have taken some photos of it, they’ve sent the photos away for identification of the species. Only to find that this specific slug wasn’t named as yet. It did not get my name, but it just comes to show and made me realize that there is so much in God’s creation, of which we aren’t aware of as yet.
On this tour through the Aquarium, the whole story of planet earth was being told. From the formation of the different parts of the earth (shifting of tectonic plates, to continent formation etc.) to where our planet is today. Very interestingly, they have used space in a fantastic way. The boat video you can see is a boat that was mounted on the ceiling which then gets reflected in the mirrors that you walk on. When you look down, it feels like you’re looking down from high above on the boat below. I must say, it’s quite a strange experience to see the boat way below you.
In short. What an experience it was to see how perfectly God made and maintains everything. I think Abba Father yearns so many times, to spoil and surprise us with so many beautiful things which He has made, of which we aren’t yet aware of.
ENJOY!
